Update on Fr. Mike

It is with great sadness that we announce that the Archdiocese has asked Fr. Mike to resign as Co-Pastor of Blessed Sacrament and to petition Rome for laicization.  We are very grateful for the years of priestly service he gave to The people of Blessed Sacrament.  He is responsible for many positive directions the parish has taken, and programs the parish has developed.  It is well known that he positively impacted many lives.  Fr. Mike was in active ministry for twenty years and during that time he was able to bring the Good News to many people in creative and energetic ways.  Let us continue to join in prayer for Fr. Mike, the parish and the Church.

Gathered in the Spirit Concert

Please join us for our first Collaborative Music Ministry Concert on Sunday, May 19th, at 4:00PM at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Sharon. The Adult Choirs, Children’s Choirs and Soloists from both Blessed Sacrament and Our Lady of Sorrows will present a program of Pentecost music to celebrate our year’s theme of “Gathered in the Spirit, We Make a Difference.” The concert will last about 45 minutes and a reception follows. It will be a wonderful hour of music!

Sister St. Vincent Nominations

Sister St. Vincent served at Blessed Sacrament and was known for her zeal and service towards others. In memory of her, Blessed Sacrament honors a graduating high school senior in the parish who has demonstrated a similar passion for service in his/her school, parish, and greater community. If you know of a high school senior who lives out Sister St. Vincent’s spirit of service, please submit a letter of nomination to Margaret Manning at the parish house or via e-mail, youthminister@blessedsacrament.org. The letter should include the nominee’s name and state specific examples of how that person serves above and beyond in the community. Please have letters in by Friday May 31st. A committee of parishioners will select a recipient who will receive the award at the Baccalaureate Mass on June 9th.
