Bios of New Parochial Vicars

On June 3, we will welcome Fr. Chip Hines as our new pastor along with two Parochial Vicars (priests who will assist Fr. Chip).  Below is a little bit about them.  We welcome Fr. Joe and Fr. Vinnie!

Rev. Joe Diem

My name is Fr. Joseph Diem I am originally from Vietnam. I received Holy Orders with a special blessing by the laying on of hands by the Nuncio to Thailand, Archbishop Renato Martino on September 22, 1985 at Panatnikhom Refugee Camp in Thailand.
As a priest of the Archdiocese of Boston from 1986 until now, I have had 2 kinds of assignment: long and short. Long assignments of around 8 years each at: Saint Peter Church in Dorchester and at Saint John the Evangelist Church in Hopkinton. Short assignments of around 2 years each at: Saint Ambrose in Dorchester and at Saint John the Evangelist in Winthrop.
My present assignment has been for 7 years now at Saint Joseph in Medford with the honor to work with Fr. Chip during the last 2 years of this assignment.
I appreciate your compassion in accepting me through the acceptance of your pastor Father Chip.

Rev. Vincent P. Doolan

Father Vinnie was born in Jamaica Plain in 1951. Having attended Blessed Sacrament Grammar School in JP, he then graduated from Don Bosco Technical High School in 1969.
Entering the Seminary in 1972, Father was ordained in 1980 for the Archdiocese of Boston. He has served at St. Francis de Sales parish in Charlestown and Our Lady of Lourdes in Jamaica Plain. In 1989 he served for 7 years as chaplain at Matignon H.S. in Cambridge. Then it was off to St. Christine’s Parish in Marshfield. Since 2002, Fr. Vinnie has been pastor of St. Joseph’s parish in Quincy.

Parish Collaborative FAQs

The collaborative that will take effect in June has left many of us with questions...What will happen to Fr. Tim?  How will the finances of each parish work?  Will the Mass schedule change?   Read these helpful FAQs with answers to these and many other questions.
