The Sacrament of Penance is one of the healing sacraments in the Church.  Jesus told Peter, "whose sins you forgive are forgiven them. Whose sins you hold bold, are held bound."  The Sacrament of Penance, also known as Reconciliation or confession, continues the healing work of Jesus through the forgiveness of sins.

The Sacrament of Penance is celebrated every Saturday from 3:15pm-3:45pm in the Reconciliation Room, which is accessed through daily Mass chapel, at occasional communal celebrations, especially during Advent and Lent, or anytime by appointment with either of the priests. To make an appointment contact Fr. Mike or Fr. Tim

Has it been a long time since you went to confession, and you're not sure how to do it?  Watch these various video clips for a refresher course! Or this website from the Archdiocese of Boston's program called The Light is On for You might be helpful, too.

Here are a few different Acts of Contrition for you to say or memorize:

O, my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended you. I detest all my sins because of your just punishment, but most of all because they offend you, my God, who are all-good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of Your grace, to sin no more and to avoid the near occasion of sin. Amen.

O my God, I am sorry for my sins because I have offended you. I know I should love you above all things. Help me to do penance, to do better, and to avoid anything that might lead me to sin. Amen.

My God, I am sorry for my sins with all my heart. In choosing to do wrong and failing to do good, I have sinned against you whom I should love above all things. I firmly intend, with your help, to do penance, to sin no more, and to avoid whatever leads me to sin. Our Savior Jesus Christ suffered and died for us. In his name, my God, have mercy. Amen.

Have mercy on me, O God, a sinner!
