EARLY CHILDHOOD/PRESCHOOL, PRE-K AND KINDERGARTEN Our early childhood program is the foundation of Blessed Sacrament School’s Preschool to Grade 8 experience. BSS early childhood teachers work to: Treat each student as a child of God with special gifts and talents to be discovered and nurtured. Build positive relationships with families and children recognizing that parents are the first and most important educators of their children. Provide a physically and emotionally safe environment for children to build confidence and a positive self-image. Create organized, predictable, pleasant classroom environments where students feel loved and supported in developing friendships and in new learning endeavors. Use best practices and the latest instructional technology to plan and implement lessons. Promote the physical, social-emotional, and cognitive development of our young children through multiple opportunities to practice emerging skills. Celebrate the arts with age-appropriate art, music, drama, and movement experiences that reflect cultural diversity. Communicate often with parents about their child’s interests, needs, progress, and growth. Link to the greater Blessed Sacrament School and Church community through attendance at daily assembly, monthly Masses, and participation in community service.
